New Term for an Old Technique

If you haven't heard the term 'reclaimed wood', you will soon.  It basically means taking distressed, old pieces of solid wood and using them as accent pieces or constructing furniture out of them.

West Elm offers a line of real wood stump occasional tables:

Currently, these stumps are on sale - reduced from $199.99 to $159.99.
Wouldn't it be more fun to tromp through the woods and find one for free?!

Here are a couple of designs that have 'gone stumpy':

Decorator Vincente Wolf paired a distressed wood trestle table with a set of vintage
Saarinen Tulip Chairs for an eclectic blend of antique charm and mid-century modern.

In 1956, Eero Saarinen designed armless 'tulip' chairs and a matching pedestal table for
Knoll Studios in Italy.  Decorator houses now retail similar signed
Saarinen chairs for $1,500 - $2,300 each.

Rashon Carraway, a.k.a.Mr. Goodwill Hunting, recently sold this pair of Saarinen Tulip Chairs
on eBay for $203.50!  FleaChicers, let me hear a loud, "AMEN!"
